[close] This group explores, discusses, and provides a forum for humanist science fiction. Humanist science fiction and, by extension, transhumanist science fiction explore themes central to human improvement, expansion, and transcendence. While humanist science fiction, like all good storytelling, pits characters agains great challenges, its drama derives from the challenges inherent in being human in a complex universe; it needn't reach for tropes of petty villainy, the forced drama of poor choices, or readymade dystopias. It expressly avoids the supernatural or, at least, declares that the supernatural is natural. Discuss futurist ideas, works of humanist science fiction, and the challenges of humanist storytelling.

[close] For those that are interested in using the emerging realities technology to awaken the human potential that lies within each of us! This is a group to share books that are useful in thinking about these technologies both fiction & non-fiction.

These are just a few of the topic pools in which The Rendon Group (TRG) swims. In our long experience, we have read quite a few books, and we would like to share our recommended reading with everyone. Feel free to join, comment on our reviews, or suggest books we should be reading. The free exchange of knowledge is critical to an open society. So get exchanging!
