[close] Hosted by Devereux Therapeutic Foster Care, this is a book club for people who are current foster parents, future foster parents and the people who know and love them. We'll read and discuss books related to foster care and adoption, focusing on the image of foster families in media, how stories mirror our own experience, and what the experiences of youth in care and other foster parents can teach us about our own families. Our book club will meet monthly in the Warwick, RI area.

[close] This is an intentional space to discuss foster care and parenting related books. We aim to connect members of our community together through discussion and reflection in hopes of furthering relationships, knowledge of best parenting practices, and the experience of youth in the child welfare system.

[close] Do you have a child who has learning or behavior issues? So do we! We are a group of parents who are passionate about helping our child/ren overcome their challenges. But let’s face it, parenting them can be tough and we need an outlet to handle the stress and build us up. Our book club is hosted by Quirky Kids and brain health and behavior coach, Marisa Rodriguez and many of the parents in the Quirky Kids community. [close] This is a group for my book, Little Wild Thang, A diary filled with my foster care files, mental health documents, and childhood diary entries as I fight a broken system to reunite with my mother that had paranoid schizophrenia. My diary is 3 parts. Little Wild Thang is part 1. It covers issues such as: physical, mental, and sexual abuse, mental illness, foster care, adoption, suicide, poverty, homelessness, and my unyielding will and fire to get through the hurricanes.
