Journalist and social entrepreneur, Eleonora Voltolina is convinced that journalism can be used as a lever to address and solve the social problems of our time. She addressed the issue of youth employment in Italy through the newsmagazine Repubblicadeglistagisti.it, founded in 2009, through which she still works to improve young people’s access conditions to the labour market.

Her new project, The Why Wait Agenda, is focused on the issue of fertility and parenting, with the aim of reducing the fertility gap and creating a society in which people do not feel forced to put off the decision of starting a family.

La strada by Cormac McCarthy
"5 stelle piene e meritatissime. Era da tanto che un libro non mi catturava così. McCarthy riesce a descrivere situazioni apparentemente monotone con un linguaggio incalzante che tiene incollate alle pagine. Ti trasmette senza difficoltà le difficoltà" Read more of this review »
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
"Mi è un po' difficile scrivere questa recensione, perché questo è un libro che mi ha appassionata molto: ho apprezzato soprattutto i personaggi, che mi sembravano particolarmente reali; eppure ho trovato che lo stile fosse troppo contorto in certi pu" Read more of this review »
More Than This by Patrick Ness
"Una lettura originale, che unisce e mescola diversi stili e generi in modo maestrale, piena di suspense e arricchita di continui colpi di scena. Personaggi che restano nel cuore e un tema di fondo che offre interessanti spunti di riflessione. Consigl" Read more of this review »

Maybe I’d give it a 2.5, and that’s mostly for Nico and Gideon's dynamic. The writing is just too convoluted and unclear for me, and I strongly dislike the use of big words just to sound fancy and cryptic. Plus, adding a random threesome in the middl ...more

Sebastian Barry
“A man’s memory might have only a hundred clear days in it and he has lived thousands. Can’t do much about that. We have our store of days and we spend them like forgetful drunkards.”
Sebastian Barry, Days Without End

Gore Vidal
“Never pass up a chance to have sex or appear on television.”
Gore Vidal

Gore Vidal
“We affect one another quite enough merely by existing. Whenever the stars cross, or is it comets? fragments pass briefly from one orbit to another. On rare occasions there is total collision, but most often the two simply continue without incident, neither losing more than a particle to the other, in passing.”
Gore Vidal, The City and the Pillar

Bernardine Evaristo
“she didn’t tell them she’d taken her father for granted and carried her blinkered, self-righteous perspective of him from childhood through to his death, when in fact he’d done nothing wrong except fail to live up to her feminist expectations of him”
Bernardine Evaristo, Girl, Woman, Other

“People have to share everything they do these days, from meals, to nights out, to selfies of themselves half naked in a mirror
The borders between public and private are dissolving”
