Rumination versus Savoring
Today I learned from The Great Courses audiobook on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: Techniques for Retraining Your Brain, that the opposite of rumination (looping negative thoughts and emotions in the mind) is called “savoring” (focusing thoughts on gratitude). To savor, ask yourself these three questions about events that occurred in your day:
