Jane Cassiopeia Darcy Nah, there's no question of plagiarism - The Turn of The crew has been done and redone, it's one of the most influential stories in the genre (even though it's rather boring and you're right, the ending is too abrupt. I legit thought my copy was wrong.) It's just amusing how the name is such an obvious homage. Marketing device :D

Evan Hammerman I tried to read "The Turn of the Screw". I couldn't get through it. I had no idea what was happening. I only knew the story (I think) from the movie "The Innocents" [is that correct?]
Also, Ms. Ware did the same thing with "One by One", a modern version of "And Then There Were None" by Agatha Christie.
And Stephen King based his "Tommyknockers" on HP Lovecraft's "The Color Out of Space".
