Replicant Rachel it's ironic that the movie industry has already produced even more controversial shows and movies, before and even now :P also, look at jeune et jolie [young&beautiful] it was a film about this sexed up teenager Isabelle, but it was well received because the director handled it masterfully, so what they need, what this adaptation needs, is a masterful director and handling, you'd be surprised what a well written script can do...

Alexis Yeah. It could be really good. There's this book I want to read called Men Woman and Children. It was made into a movie and even had Adam Sandler and Ansel Elgort in it, but it got really bad reviews. Its got a lot of sex in it, but I still really want to read the book and see the movie.

Replicant Rachel interesting, well, you can see marketing also is involved, the more a film is marketed the more attention it gets, possibly even become audiences' favorite even if critics hate it...

Alexis Yeah. But I think that it's also that people just don't know how to critique correctly. Men Women and Children is definitely a more adult book, and a likewise movie. People give it bad ratings, because 'sex, sex, sex' or 'wouldn't take my kids to see this'. No, you wouldn't take your kids to see that. You should learn about a movie before you go and see it and if it's a book, read it or learn about it first.

Replicant Rachel i don't think people can't critique if they're not comfortable with a movie, usually with audiences you get reviews on the story more,i agree about the last part though,it's important to know what you're watching .. but there's also the fact that sometimes sex takes out seriousness out of a film, and even adults can be uncomfortable with that, especially if the plot, or characters aren't very strong and emotional and all that, think GOT, or shameless, they have nudity, lots of it, but they're very personal and strong in everything else, so that makes nudity a kind of a given...
