Phillip Gracious, I hope I don't need to read the Baroque Cycle, I got bored really early on those. As for Cryto and Reamde - enjoyed those, though REAMDE dragged out and was a bit of a mess at the end (which seems kind of common to his books).

Nathan Chattaway Hi Phillip. You don't need to read any of the previously published books if you don't mind not catching the meta-theme going on. It really only emerges when you've read them all, but it's not mind-shattering or anything. Life's too short to read bad books, so if you're hating something - move on. I didn't finish D.O.D.O after getting more than halfway through.

Nolan Billington I just re-read the baroque cycle and am starting Cryptonomicon again. Will probably then finish woth reamde and the fall, i would say there are two main characters through all the books that make this transisition from one state of consciousness to another possible
