Actually, if you read the acknowledgements, it seems to be loosely based on Stevie Nicks.
And I totally disagree with your comment that women had zero history in the classic rock era. WTF? The Runaways led by Joan Jett? Blondie led by Debbie Harry? Stevie Nicks? Heart coming up? It was definitely male-dominated, but there were a lot of women kicking ass.
