I agree with Kristen. Back in Chapter Three he also caught snowflakes as a boy saying, "Somehow grasping at vanishing snowflakes is like grasping at happiness: an act of possession that instantly gives way to nothing."

Ii too agree with Kristen. He was trying to find happiness again but it was not going to happen.
