Adam People should have questions about adopting transracially that they wouldn't otherwise. If that has a discouraging effect, then that's not a bad thing.

Angeli My husband (Caucasian) and I (Asian) adopted internationally from Korea. Our adoption agency required us to take classes before we could continue with our home study and the actual process. Those were really helpful in our understanding that adoption starts with trauma: for the birth family and the child. As adoptive parents, we needed to recognize that. We have a loving relationship with our son and have always told him we would help look for his birth family if he chooses to do so.
