Licha And now thinking about it, why the need to insert dialogue that seemed to be going on with the mother and what seemed to be other inmates? I really didn't care for the final explanation of Mummy.

Lo I find comments like yours confusing, specifically the shock that the mother would be "allowed" to say horrible things to Eleanor. Who do you think would be in charge of preventing this? Like, do you think there's a dedicated team of people who monitor the abused family members of prison inmates to protect them?

I mean no disrespect, I'm genuinely just trying to understand what's behind the multiple comments like yours. My experience with institutional care (prisons, psychiatric hospitals, halfway houses, foster care) is that there's generally far too little oversight to even keep kids safe and alive, let alone pay attention to tiny details of their conversations.

Just curious if you can elaborate, since a lot of my time is spent trying to help folks from "inside" the system integrate and get along with folks who have no clue what that's like. To that end, it's helpful for me to understand some of the ideas "normal" people have about the system.

Thanks, have a great day!
