Absolutely agree. And if she said, "Kiddo" or "Babe" one more time...
Yes! That drove me CRAZY. I kept thinking, for a linguist, she has a really limited vocabulary (and this goes for the author as well).
Agree. I guess I didn't hate it, as there are many books that I have given up part way through and I did finish this one. But yes, that internal dialogue drove me bananas, and frankly I just felt that Lorenzo was just unnecessary. Also, agree with you Kristina, for a linguist that was so judgy of the "villians" lack of vocabulary, it sure felt like she was relying on f-bombs a lot to express her anger over everything. I mean, I don't care about cursing, it just got old. Maybe she was out of practice after keeping quiet and not having access to any reading material for a year?
Again, YES! I was so annoyed with her snarky thoughts about the limited vocabulary of the Bad Guys when she herself wasn't exactly Shakespeare. This book was so awful that I wouldn't be surprised if Hollywood has already bought the movie rights to it.
"He stood behind me, his arms circled around my waist, creeping up like five-legged spiders to my breasts." Poor spider, what has happened to his three other legs?
