After the civil rights movement young black men are still gunned down and tossed aside like pieces of garbage. Have we really gone far from where we were before the civil rights movement?
I was just going to make the same point and many others. Young black women are still being taught to hate their hair, their color, their very faces and young black men are still being treated like they are terrorists in situations where it's quite obvious they are not. The problems in this country concerning race have not gone away. It's good that, in some areas, they have changed a little bit but, over all, it still sucks to be black here unless you are in the rare situation of strength being loved unconditionally can supply... and that's a rarity most people of whatever race, ethnicity, and/or gender have access to.
