I just finished, and feel the SAME.
I completely agree with you! I feel like she was trying to depict a "white knight" kind of guy who won't leave a girl alone, but then giving him a very traumatic, sad childhood really contradicts the narrative.
Yes I agree. The point of the book was to show the discounting of women but I found V very ambiguous in how she treated Mike.
Agree! That's why I deducted a few stars from my rating.
