There are some outdated sexual references in the 1958 novel, and Ayn Rand is preachy, I recently listened to the CD version which made the long speeches more bearable. It's an excellent story about what happens when the brains of the world go on strike. I encourage you to try it again, maybe with the help of more up to date technology.
