Agree. Okinawa is not quite Japan esp not Tokyo. In fact, the area where there is greater longevity in Okinawa is in the mountainous rural areas like Ogimi. I have visited Ogimi, and they live simple lives, cook their own meals and have their Moais - livelong groups of friends that support each other. I met one group of old ladies, the youngest was in her 70s, who meet every day after dinner to chat or share snacks - every single day even in winter. I do not think people in cities generally make time for this - we end up surfing the internet, social media or on netflix haha.
