In On Writing, he talks about it briefly (pp 92-93 in my paperback). He talks about drinking a case of 16oz tallboys every night during that time, and mentions that he doesn't remember writing Cujo at all.
in On Writing he discusses his challenges with alcohol and addition in general and how his wife eventually put her foot down and called him on his bull shit, essentially saving his life (my own wife did this for me about 9 years ago thank god!). One of his biggest fears was not being able to write when he became sober because all his ideas had come to him while high or drunk. But his fears appear to be unfounded! Hemmingway used to say, Write when you're drunk, edit when you're sober.

Or maybe someone like King can write entire novels in a single drunken stupor.
