Bwmurf Thank you!😄

Beverly I’m curious about this - Sebastian mentions that Derek Craven’s club burned down nearly 20 years before, and at that time Derek Craven as around 30 years old, making him about 50 years old during Devil in Winter; however, Evie refers to Lord Haldane as an elderly man with a “jowly” face at the end of the book. That doesn’t seem quite right, so is he really Derek?

Bwmurf I just saw your comment so I went back and read it and it sounds like this Lord Haldane is talking about Derek to me not that he is Derek. He tells Evie “I never thought to see another of his kind” and “In all my years, I’ve seen only one other man who walked through a gaming club that way. As if it was his personal hunting ground, and he the most charming of predators.” So it may be that Lord Haldane was just someone who went to Derek’s club and knew him. I asked the author on Twitter because it’s bothering me but so far no answer.

Khaldea he Could be talking about himself in second person? I hope the author responds to you so we can know the answer .

Bwmurf She hasn’t responded but I did ask a lot of my book groups on Facebook and no one know who he is but think he was just a patron of the club and knew Derek. They all say it’s nit Derek though so I’m just gonna assume they are right.

Jennifer Did we ever get an answer to this 😬

Riya I don't think he's Derek Craven because Derek is green eyed whereas lord Haldane has brown eyes 🤔
