Thanks for posting, Breeze. I couldn’t make it to the Miami book fair last weekend to a discussion with the author. Can you remember any other interesting tidbits from your author appearance? Such an interesting book! One of my favorite things about it was all those descriptive lists that practically catalog what he saw, smelled and experienced.
I contacted the author by googling his name and sent a personal email to him at the institution where he teaches. I loved, loved, loved this book so much and told him that I wanted him to come to Seattle Arts and Lectures. He was quite humbled by my enthusiasm and answered my email; of course that was before the book had received widespread acclaim. I haven't heard him in person yet but I think there is an audio interview of him on line.
