MarthaSquishy I did consider Betty initially, I think it could still be her, but her motives would just have been to get out of their service, something that could be much easier achieved by just quitting, no one would have blamed her. Whereas by the end Faraday has the house to gain which even in chapter one we know he wants to have

Esther No, I do not suspect Betty. Faraday implicates himself, subtly and more and more frequently right up till the final pages.


Melissa Rochelle His weird flashback/vision where Caroline shouts "YOU" definitely makes me think Faraday was the culprit all along. (Or was that something Betty heard her say?) OR was the house finally infecting Faraday and he was trying to save it on behalf of the ghost (of Susan) from Caroline?

(I love the ending of this one because I think there's SO much you can talk about with friends who have also read it).
