Shouldn't his name be Fisher then? I can get behind Fisher. It just bothers me and I know it will bother me when reading because all I can see is fishing, but maybe that's the point, maybe he is a fisher...
I think Fiske is the perfect name. I agree with Cassandra. Young did her research for sure when naming her characters. I loved this aspect.
Sorry I have to disagree with you there. Speaking as someone who is Swedish you will never find anyone with the name Fiske, it makes zero sense and it's not common in the same way Fisher is in English. Honestly I agree with Kira Jeppesen, it's off putting and frankly annoying.
i have to agree with Cassandra, she obviously worked hard on this book and thought of the names very carefully and had done loads of research. i think is THE perfect name ;)
Guys, I believe what's bothering us Scandinavians, is that "Fiske" means "to fish", whereas "Fisker" would be the equivalent of "Fisher".
