The Glassed And The Furious You took the words right out of my mouth! I loved the fever series even though I too had my problems with Mac. I think it was a great series but like you, I feel like Mac's story should have been over. She got her happy ending, she got her parents, her man, a more or less peaceful life - it's done. Dani on the other hand was just beginning. But I gotta say I'm relieved that in this book Dani will be older. It always bugged me that she was only 13... I have no doubt that KMM will make this book great, as she always does but I share your disappointment at finding out that Mac was back. Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels so strongly about this ;)

Fresiako I really hope that Dani gets more narrative time than Mac and JB. I'm so bored of her endless paragraphs of introspection.

SHOOKITHA TEA Exactly, the endless introspection drives me bugfuck! LOL I just really loved how KMM set Dani's character as a stand alone, the reader is invested in HER. I feel like with Mac, the only thing readers invest in her character is her relationship with Barrons. How she "grew claws for him". It irks me, people want more Mac because it means more Barrons. Don't get me wrong I love me some Barrons but I'm really not certain I want more just now. k Mo said she wanted to give readers a pause before going back to their story and I wish she saw it through a little longer... or at least didn't create such a brief epic pause! LOL torture i tell you! I will devour Burned either way, I'm holding out hope K Mo hasn't released any real teasers for Dani bc they'd reveal too much and that the Mac centric promo is marketing bunk. (Doubtful)

Margaret I'm almost scared to read Burned. After waiting so long I'm beginning to think there is no possible way for the sequel to live up to the hype. I enjoyed Iced so much and I really wanted to see how Dani's story played out that I'm not sure I can face being disappointed. (Talk about your first world problems lol) Oh well I just have to gather my courage.

Courtney I am so disapointed. I was so excited about hearing a continuation in Dani's story but now I feel let down and cheated. In my mind Mac's story was done. I dont need more Mac I need more Dani. I have a feeling the next books are going to be more Mac since Feverborn and Feversong are supposed to be the titles of the next two books. I'll read Burned when it comes out but depending on how the storyline goes I might not read the rest of the series.

Queenbee Burned turns out to be a train wreck. Poorly written and I too loathe Mac as a character.. She s an airhead, obtuse and an emotional asturbator and frankly burned ended up being a mac story with musings and observations about Dani and others. Please. To me Mac is not likeable nor can I identify with such a self centered and eternally clueless character who for some reason has a lt of power and lucks out in using it.

Macs anthem should be " if you are cute enough and stupid, you too can one day save the world. I also think the Kat and Jo stories are painful attempts for more future spin offs as are making the keltars take the places of all the former unseelie princes.

Oh yeah. Spoiler here.

SHOOKITHA TEA lol Queenbee, I agree Mac's character can be so frustrating. Burned was honestly a mess, it felt like a freaking novella with 500 pages. having Mac find out all these things about Ryodan just felt like an info dump. It would have been so much more fulfilling to have learned all those things organically, through Dani's eyes... like bc she's the one who's supposed to understand him! My biggest problem like you said is that she suddenly finds some major powers out of nowhere, like in this book Mac suddenly is sure where to find the song of making! that has eluded the UK for millennia and is gonna save the world with it! because she had dreams all her life of music as well as dreams of the white mansion! gah.
I fell in love with Dani's character because she was nothing like Mac.. she had all the power and all the heartache, and didn't whine even a third as much as Mac constantly does.
and I hope you're wrong about spin offs and making the keltars UP's! I can totally see it happening and I might break something if it does! LOL
