Kelly Glad my comment helped! I really love this book series, but it is difficult to recommend to friends because of the first few chapters. Hope you enjoy it!

Caitlin Honestly this is exactly how I felt about this book, and you perfectly articulated why I wast having trouble getting into it. I was actually very hooked on the cliffhanger in the first chapter, and then it switched over to a storyline with WAY too many characters with complex names that were hard to keep straight. I felt like I would need take notes. I then flipped through the pages to see when the storyline from the first chapter would pick back up and it didn't seem to happen anytime soon so I felt fatigued already, and lost interest in the book. I'll try again now that I've read your review that I need to get to at least the end of the 3rd chapter.

Rachel I started and stopped this book at least five times because of the beginning being so confusing. But I finally just powered through the beginning without worrying about it making sense and it all came together and I really enjoyed the book. Except for the Joost chapter but it makes more sense when you explained it like a TV crime show. Thank you!

Saniya Wow, thank you so much. This answer is extremely helpful. I started reading this book a while ago and I just stopped since I couldn't get through with the first couple chapters. This answer is extremely motivating. Thank you so much!

lorelei224 Oh my god I feel like I'm dragging myself to absorb all the stuff the characters are talking about. Can't we just skip to chapter 3? Or are the first 2 chapters really needed? It's so dragging.

oıɔoɹ/rocio♥ Thank you for this, Kelly

Anto Covi I am actually very glad I read this comment because I thought it was just me! I have read the first two chapters to get a feeling if I could like the book as a whole once I get around to read it properly and I was not too captured, which upset me since I really wanted to get into it after all the good reviews. I hope the following chapters will be as good as they say. Thank you again!
