I read Tawny Man before reading Liveships. Robin did a great job of making TM comprehensible without LS, but I really wish I had read LS after Farseer before TM.

Egg-ZACK-lee! Though having just read it again, there are plenty of pretty good hints.
I read Farseer then TM, skipping LST. I just wanted to continue with F&F. Not that it took anything away from how good these stories are but I do with I had read them chronologically. Yes, there's a huge spoiler and if you read TM first it'll take away the joy of discovering that. There's other stuff too that needs LST or you won't understand. So reading them in the order Tony posted above is the best.
