Monica Cortada My imagination has decided Lady Hardcastle’s backstory is not unlike Mrs. Polifax. I’m so glad to have discovered Lady Hardcastle because I miss Dorothy Gilman.

Cheryl Henderson-khalid I like the way that you drip their previous adventures into their present lives. I find it more interesting to get the glimpses instead of the entire backstory in one swoop, I found this to be a very effective narrative device. I look forward to your next installments.

Cathy I Think that is a wonderful idea!

message 4: by Pumpkinpuddy (new)

Pumpkinpuddy I found it very disconcerting. I kept looking to see if maybe this was an offshoot of a different series that I hadn't read.

Karren Hodgkins I love the idea of their story dripping in as we go. I agree that adds intrigue and does feel more real. Loving this series, thanks so much for writing them!!

message 6: by Peggy (new)

Peggy I like the way you are telling their story. It makes it more interesting than if I know everything upfront.

Michael Anderson I love it as well - I read the new ‘Dizzy Heights’ Mystery #1 first, so you get a peek at Lady H and Flo, which sent me back to the start of the series - just finished #1 and started on #2. Really like the slow unfolding of their backstory and look forward to learning more details over the series.

Robert Davidson I also love learning more of Flo and Emily's back story in dribs and drabs along the way. It's pretty typical of the way most of us learn more about a person as we get to know them in real life, and gives them much more depth as characters. Plus, it seems as though their earlier lives might well require another dozen books to tell the whole story! lol

Wina My spouse and I agree with you, and are enjoying how the back story comes out gradually! I love their witty repartee and have read 5 so far (audiobook). I want to add that the reader is fantastic! We are so lucky to have her humorous reading talents.
