It's like a Psychic thing. She gets these hallucinations and everything. It's pretty cool :)
It's not really either. Mara and Noah have abilities that we don't even know are real. There's a lot of hallucination type events and visions that aren't real. This book is so thrilling- you should read it and find out. You wont be disappointed.
I would say it has Sci-fi Superpowers... but that's my opinion.
