Oh that is so disappointing to hear:( B&G were among my favourite reads last year.
Well I hope your publisher changes their mind, I just finished "Tower of Thorns", and dread finishing the last book. Blackthorn and Grim are fantastic characters who deserve to have more of their stories told.
Hi Juliet, Are they mad? Your publishers I mean. What a great series the Blackthorn and Grim books are. Keep at them. We want a new book...(when do we want it? Now!)
I've just discovered the series and am so disappointed to hear there may not be any other books after Den of Wolves. I was hoping for 7, or possibly 8? One for each year of the bargain. What is wrong with your publisher?
I just discovered the series too and am extremely disappointed that there won't be new books. I love these characters!
I have heard that the industry has become skittish about publishing long series. Do you think this is why they are uninterested in more in this series?
I just found this thread- and I know why I haven’t seen a new book in this series recently. The anticipation of a new book in a greatly loved series is one of life’s pleasures. A little tiny piece of me just died🥺
Thank goodness Ms. Marillier has other novels I have yet to feast upon.
I'm all for writing to the publisher as well. They are crazy not to keep publishing you. (Or--can you find someone else with some more sense?)
Oh this is so disappointing! I love these types of series, and I absolutely adore Blackthorn!! As others have inquired, is there anything we as fans can do to encourage your publisher to reconsider their decision?? Thank you!
I just love your books. You are a terrific story teller and I need to know how this story ends! Is there a way of bypassing the publisher? Do an e-book version only or some sort of subscription letter so you can tell us the end of the B&G saga?
I just finished Tower of Thorns and it was so good. Edge of my seat for most of it -- masterfully crafted mystery and fantasy. This series is the most unique and refreshing visit to classic fairytale I have ever read. I truly hope Penguin reconsiders... the characters are so lovable. They have to have many more adventures in them yet... fingers crossed!
