Christianne Swearson What fun! I hope we'll get to see it soon in the States.

Donald I like Ashley Jensen but she's just not Agatha Raisin, young blonde and skinny . . .

Paul Robinson I loved Ahley Jenson in the latter episodes of May to December, but she is wrong for Agatha, In the story I am listening to she is 55 or I am missing something, anyway Ashley Jenson is the wrong shape and obviously from the wrong part of Britain, Don't the people who do casting these days read the books they are doing Casting for?

message 5: by Donald (new)

Donald The promo shots show they've made no attempt to match the look of Agatha - no sleek dark bob, just her usual blonde hair, no high heels & too short skirt . . .I expect it will be made into a short series after the pilot because of the way UK tv works . . .

Donald Caroline Quentin would be much more suitable
Cast pic here . . .

Laura I can't wait to see it. Hope it makes it to the US. We all have our opinions of who should portray our Agatha. I don't imagine her looking like Ashley Jensen, but I also would be very disappointed if Dawn French had been chosen, so we will just all have to watch it with an open mind and hopefully enjoy!!

Rose Iski It would be lovely if it airs here in the states.

message 9: by Karen (new)

Karen Beck That woman looks more like Stephanie Plum than Agatha Raisin! What were they thinking!?!?

Sandysbookaday (taking a step back for a while) I hope it comes to NZ!!!!

I had to look up Dawn French, but I have to say she does seem a lot like the way I have always pictured Agatha. I hope the pilot does well.

message 12: by Lin (new)

Lin Stepp I hope we get it in the U.S.

message 13: by Karen (new)

Karen Beck I hope so too, Lin.

Caroline Aubry Simply fantastic news!

message 15: by Anne (new)

Anne Patkau Hooray. Will we see in Canada?

message 16: by Donald (new)

Donald Watched it, not Agatha, more like her daughter, not really right at all, a black vicar with a sexy young wife instead of the elderly Bloxbys. Mathew Horne was good but not as useless or camp as he is in the books. There was a whole plot of Agatha's cleaning lady dating the PC too, so that also veers from the books . . .

message 17: by Judy (new)

Judy Especially after reading the comments, but anyway, looks like a TV show I could miss. The Agatha I know and love and all her friends and enemies in the books are so wonderful in my imagination, I don't think I want anything to destroy that.

message 18: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Booth I see more Penelope Keith as Agatha. Her voice is perfect though I suppose she's a tad past doing a early to mid 50's Agatha. It's sad how TV has to make everyone pretty despite what the character really is.

message 19: by Annie (new)

Annie I bought the DVD featuring the full length story “Quiche of Death” and shorter adaptations of some of the other stories, and I really enjoyed watching it. I do hope there will be some more releases based on Agatha Raisin’s adventures. Some of the characters don’t appear as described in the book, but the characters depicted are well represented. A few details have been changed for the TV version, but it doesn’t spoil the storyline.

message 20: by Flora (new)

Flora I loved this show so much but I only got to see season one here in the US? Is there any more? I really do hope so! Thank you so much for your incredible work!

message 21: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Booth I love the Agatha stories. She is so wonderfully flawed and but while the actress who plays her is very good, I can’t help but feel that the show and some of the characters are too far from the novel and don’t understand why they would change an already perfect story. I only know of the episodes on BritBox

message 22: by Pat (new)

Pat I agree that the role of Agatha is miscast. I watched the Quiche of Death and stopped watching. I could not get over how wrong the actress was for the part.

message 23: by Sarah (new)

Sarah Booth I’m with you, Pat. It’s funny how we get an image in our heads concerning a character and any challenge to it just won’t fly. That’s the joy of reading, you get a movie in your head. Now if the TV world could follow authors a bit closer!
