If you liked Homegoing, you might also like The Underground Railroad by Colson Wilson.
b/c im black and this is my actual narrative I can only do so many slave esque books.. like maybe one or two every few years.. they are demoralizing.. but i'll put it on my list and check it out in a few years..

I've enjoyed both of Colson's Pulizer books ... having a harder time getting into Harlem Shuffle.
