Madison I don't want to tell you how to be a mother, but I think it's actually a really empowering book and you should get it for her. I wish someone would have given me this book years before high school.

Carly I agree, I just read this book myself and it hit hard to home. However, parents are obviously allowed to decided on matters like this. I don't recommend it for anyone younger than 16 or so.

Lia I don't mean to pry even from where you think its more appropriate for a 14 years old learn about those matters?

Melissa Bravo mom! good job! Yes, children get exposed to bad things, but parents and homes are suppose to be a shelter from the bad of the world. Children need a place to get away from dark issues, but come be submerged more. I'm a behavior health scientist and I am shocked at how many parents feel they should just stand back and let the world hit their kids/teens. Children will eventually grow up, parents help them to not grow up too fast.
