I'd also recommend In Lucia's Eyes by Arthur Japin, one of the most beautiful books I've read (though I did read it in Dutch..)
If you want to read Dutch children's authors I'd recommend Thea Beckman, Tonke Dragt and Annie M.G. Scmidt! They are all really great authors in their own right ;)
