Lonni Tanner Though it isn't an easy read, I loved Any Human Heart (many of my friends disagreed). Did you read Anthony Doer's All the Light You Cannot See? That really fits the bill. Elizabeth Gilbert's Signature of All Things does too (and it's nothing like her other stuff).

Cali Clarke And I've just finished 'A Gentleman in Moscow' and loved it too! And still think that Any Human Heart is in a similar vein.
