IM SORRY BUT THAT IS FARRR FROM THE TRUTH. He was gonna marry Evangeline either way the only thing he cared about was the throne and to avenge his father. MAVEN WAS THE ONE TO SAVE HER FROM CAL BECAUSE HE LOVED HER TOO MUCH . And if you even read red queen you would know at the end of the book maven tells mare to be his “red queen” even though they “killed the king” READ THE BOOK BEFORE YOU SAY THIS NONSENSE
