Laura, even Holly is told that her sister Ruby slipped into the fountain. And the ONLY person watching was the neighbor Harry, who no one liked. And when we find out Harry's heartbreaking story, I was angry that these six neighbors didn't know Harry's sad story. How could they not investigate, read newspaters, find out about their lonely neighbor? These are the kind of neighbors I wouldn't want. Except maybe for Vid and Tiffany, who seemed like great people.
gee whiz. that really isn't at all what I expected. I'll keep reading, but holy cow, this one is just dragging for me and I normally LOVE her books! thank you for explaining!
