he didn't lie about being an addict. he was an addict. some of the minor details contained within the book we fictionalized. The main feeling of the book is true.
Charlie, Frey admitted to fabricating major portions of the book, not minor details. He should have just written a fiction story. The overall feeling that you, and some others, value could still be there, with no controversy.
