Also as I've recently found Christian cameron is an interesting writer, he throws in the war and the politics but from the Greek/Roman side with his series the long war or he also has another series I'm about to read, the tyrant series.

if you get the chance the first book in the long war series is killer of men, it had me hooked in the first chapter although not quite as much as the faithful and the fallen series

Cheers, Nathan. I have read that series - LOVE IT - and am eagerly awaiting the last book. You are probably aware that Miles/Christian are the same person. A terrific writer, love everything he's done. I'd also recommend the Ill Made Knight - Christian Cameron, about the 100 Years War

Thanks for the recommendation and accually I didn't know that miles/Christian are the same person sorry I didn't reply sooner alot happened at work that required attention. One thing that I love about you is that you reply quick and personal, at least I think so, that said sorry to drag this conversation on but I must ask if you have read the series "The King Killer Chronicles"( I may have mixed up the series) but the first book is "Name of the Wind" and the second is "the Wise Man's Fear" sorry I do not remember the authors name off the top of my head, I'm pretty sure you would've but if not I would recommend you read it although the 3rd book isn't out and I don't know when it'll come out.

Hi John, thank you so much for coming back to me and I really appreciate your recommendations - I will definitely give the ones I haven't read (Cameron and the King Arthur series) a go! Sword in the storm is also one of my favourites - possibly the best Gemmel characters in a series (Druss aside).
