I've started reading the book. I LOVE that you don't underestimate your readers, no matter how young the target audience is. I'm almost 30 and I love it so far--everything I've been missing in fantasy--and if I had a kid I'd want them to read books like this.

Kelly, I hope you see this. My 3rd grade daughter (who has always read past her age...) has been bugging me to read your book from the minute she picked it up. She usually doesn't; she knows that typically her books are not my books (although that's changing as she grows) and every day she was reading it (all 4 of them!) she would come down and say "Mommy, you HAVE to read this". Then she put it on my "to be read" shelf in my room. Then she moved it to the top. So I'm reading it and so far loving it and the challenging prose and the story. So from me with my own little magic girl and from her, thank you for your beautiful book.
