Marzie Well, that's crazy because one of my favorite authors, Seanan McGuire, self-publishes short stories all the time and they are all listed here. I think Stacia Kane's are, too.

On the other hand, anthology? (*bouncing*) More is better when it comes to good stories. :)

Intisar Khanani Hmm. I wonder if the rules have more flexibility than I realized... Will look into this further! Thanks so much for the info and support :) And ha! It will take a bit before an anthology becomes a reality, but you've got to have goals to get somewhere, right?

rivka That it's short isn't necessarily a problem, as it's definitely a separate work -- even appears to be a PDF. However, it seems to be only distributed to subscribers, rather than (for example) available for general download from an easily-visible link on your website. So it doesn't quite meet Goodreads standards for published. (But it easily could, if you wanted to add it to your site as I described above.)

Intisar Khanani Rivka--thanks so much for this insight! I don't think I'm ready to post the story generally, but it's good to know that if/when I do, that will allow it to meet the Goodreads standards for being listed. I really appreciate your commenting!

Intisar Khanani Well... a Goodreads user took matters into their own hands and listed the story here. I did a double take when it popped up on my author dashboard just like that. LOL! Since it apparently got approved, I'm going with it. If you want to add it to your "read" shelf, now you can! ;) Thank you both!
