I read your book too and thank you for writing about your experiences and adding to the oral history.
Though I have been reading about the war and the Holocaust my entire life and observing some older family members, I can see how really there is no escape for the second generation of children afterwards. From what I've red, the stories alone can traumatize the children and no stories at all and a refusal to talk, can cause isolation and trauma for the child who has no clue why the parents are distant and sad and quiet. Recently there have been a few interesting new books about this subject and I hope there are more.
BTW, I generally agree whole-heartedly about Holocaust "fiction" and don't read it either.
Please keep writing and thank you.
