Jonathan Harbour I haven't read the book yet. And given that I consider Necronomicron a gigantic waste of paper, I was concerned whether this was also a load of bullshit too. But a friend recommended it as "Stephenson's only truly readable novel". I'm still not convinced but it is on my read list--way down there somewhere.

Davy Jonathan, I'm assuming you're talking about Cryptonomicon, and not Lovecraft's Necronomicon? I DNF'ed that book fairly quickly, but decided to give Stephenson another chance by reading Reamde. I quite enjoyed that one and would also classify that as a "readable novel". So I would disagree with your friend.

Jonathan Harbour Yeah, sorry, autocorrect. :)

Jonathan Harbour Also, i believe Reamde came out after our conversation so you might be right about it.
