I've read this at the age of 13, and thought it was less then analytical, the characters were a bit flat, there was melodrama, pathetic... The subject is quite dark? Oh please. One must meet his place in the world and how people are really like before he has 16 years (but not quite that this book learned me something I didn't know before).
