You are right Miguel. The longer it takes, the bigger the criticism will be. All the frustration of fans who waited for 2-3 years at first , than a fourth, then a fifth and so on will turn to "hey! he told me he won't publish it until he will be happy with the work! Then it means it must be perfect! If it's perfect then why is there a flaw here? And another one there? and why is he doing that with the character? what was he thinking? etcaetera..."
My wife told me "Give up! He is milking the situation". I tended not to disagree. I am a consumer. Books 1 and 2 have been great and I had hoped that it would take lass than 5 years to finish a book that was already written.
I understand that it's his baby. It'll come when he will let it come...
However I am still waiting for book 3. There is still so much story unsaid in Kvothe's saga... And from my POV 3 books are not enough. This is the real tragedy for me: What if book 3 leaves me with an incomplete story? What if we need a 4th book?
Pat painted/ created the most surreal, complex and visual univers I ever found in fantasy books. The only downside is the waiting time... It's almost cruel
