Victor Merling The other answer I got for my question was too silly to bother replying to... as if manga wasn't just the japanese word for comic book. It gave me the answer I needed so, it was good enough,

But I don't think it's too difficult to understand why manga fans don't like it when someone says they're reading a comic book. The word manga makes them feel special and better than "regular comic book readers".

Again I don't understand why one would be so proud to use the word that describes japanese tentacle porn, but would be embarassed to be associated with the same used to describe The Sandman, Watchmen and so many others.

Kacey Connors Fair enough and I see your point. But yes, if you haven't yet you should read it.

I'm going to watch the film as soon as it comes in from the library.

Katya I disagree with you. Comic books and Manga have different drawings and reading style. It's like CocaCola and Pepsi. Almost same, but not entirely. I know that there are different styles that puts comics and manga to blend in one another so they can be called for comic instead of manga. But still it's not the same ;)

Sunny Bravo Manga reads backwards and in the opposite direction when compared to the comic books.
