"Predicted" is far too strong a word. This is theoretical conjecture, supported with computer modelling based on additional conjectures, like string theory. And which has yet to be duplicated, because so far there are a vanishingly small number of computers powerful enough to do the necessary calculations.
I have a lot of respect for theoretical physicists; my dad is one. But this research is not yet proof of anything, and most assuredly not of FTL travel -- which isn't even mentioned in the article, nor I do see any obvious connection. (Anyway, wormholes are a more likely scenario than black holes for survivable FTL in any case.)
