I certainly don't have any issue with the fact that you ignored Derleth's story, "The Seal of R'lyeh". I just wondered whether you'd read it or were at least aware of it.

I have to be honest and say that, despite generally good ratings here at GR, I didn't get a great deal out of your story. Without wishing to spoil anything for those who intend to read, "The Trials of Obed Marsh" I did like some of your ideas but for me your prose lacked colour, the characters didn't really come to life and the story really lacked a sense of the "Lovecraftian".

"The Shadow over Innsmouth" is my second favourite HPL tale and it inspired me to write my own very, very short sequel:
