Joey Where did he admit to not being loyal?

Laura Joey, he said in Chapter 21, "I wasn't a saint, but I loved her." It's not an explicit admission, but I think it's reasonable to interpret it as an admission in the context. He probably wouldn't have said that, directly after Claire's suicide, about just being gone for work a lot, or just not being able to fill Claire up when she was needy.

Joey This was long time ago and I'd have to go through and read the book again, but "not being a saint"can have myriad inturpritations.

Laura That's true. You can interpret literature however you like, but I thought I'd let you know where you can find the line that this commenter was talking about.
