what a long and wonderful comment, Denise:) And thank you for making me understand why some readers love Basta. It is the first time some one did manage to do that!:) The'mirroring' - yes, I should have known. After all I have been traveling behind the Mirrors for more than eight years now with my Reckless-books:))) But luckily I have my readers to explain some things to me that I miss about my own stories!

While it might've been interesting to read and learn more about him, it's more important that he didn't have to suffer even longer, especially only to satisfy the readers' curiosity. :)
Oh, and Cornelia, as to why people feel sympathy towards him: I think they might like him because they can feel that many things went wrong in his life and that his cruelty and darkness is (at least somewhat) a product of "mirroring" what he had to endure. Him trying to convince others and himself that he's more important because many people made him feel worthless. Or they might like his (a bit too twisted) humor.
At least that's what I assume.
I thought a lot about Basta all these years and often wondered what'd have happened if he for once received unconditional kindness and/or love. Would he even be able to accept it, would he shelter himself from those things, or would he take advantage of it?
Probably both, I guess.
Baldassare? Let's see. :) Though I'm not usually someone who's particularly a fan of villains (sounds a bit nonsensical considering how much I like Basta, but I like him for him and not because he's a villain), but I won't know until I read about him.
Oh, anyways, I'm still looking forward to go on another journey with the Inkworld characters. Your stories always captivate me, always have. You're like a wizard to me, Cornelia, being able to make your readers FEEL the story.
Ah, and I'm so sorry for writing so much! What a long comment.
