I never know what to say to someone dealing hard times, I never even know what to say in good times either. But I hope you will start to feel better soon. Relax and heal, Felicia. I'll send positive thoughts your way.
Sending positive thoughts your way! Depression can really knock the stuffing out of you. We are all behind you and hope you are well!
Awesome fans like us can wait for you to take care of yourself! I'm sorry to hear that some plans fell through, but please take all the time you need. Self-care is very hard, but incredibly important. Thank you for being so honest with us :)
Miss Felicia, 1st off, thanks so much for answering my question! That speaks volumes about your character and I certainly appreciate it! Thanks for the heads up! You most certainly are a busy person so I can understand needing a moment to take a breather! Enjoy your month off! Relax and enjoy the holiday season and the time you spend with loved ones! 2ndly, i have to both agree with you and the previous comments above: Take care of yourself! No, it isn't easy. I know so many people who deal with depression and similar issues and they are nothing to ignore or take lightly, especially if you are struggling. I appreciate your willingness to admit you are having a tough time because it shows you are willing to accept help, even if it is only in the form of well wishes and prayers sent upward on your behalf! I will gladly add my prayers to those already being sent and most definitely take care! If you need anything, feel free to ask! I'm sure your many fans, myself included, will eagerly do what we can! Be happy, awesome lady!
I think you deserve it anyways! Take care of yourself, so that you can be the best YOU!!! :) We love you and we'll still be here when you get back! :) #AKF
Heck, you generally give us such a huge amount of creative output, I'm pretty sure we can make do while you take a break. Kick back, look after yourself and enjoy the holiday season.
Enjoy your month off! For all the awesome stuff you do, you definitely deserve it! Hope you feel refreshed and rejuvenated by January. :)
Sorry to hear about dealing with depression. Go take care of yourself. The world can wait and geeks aren't goin' nowheres. Go heal thyself. In the meantime ...I look forward to reading your book.
Felicia I absolutely loved your book. You are so funny, smart, and brave. I listened to the audio book and it was the best! So great to have the PDF of the pictures too.
In my opinion you can take a few years off after how awesome the book was.
Take time off, refresh yourself, surround yourself inn things that make you happy. Don't get frustrated about taking time off because you feel you're disappointing someone even if that someone is yourself because you're a hard worker and feel you "should be doing something ". You are doing something you're taking care of yourself and that is important . I know that as long as it takes to rejuvenate yourself we're on your side wishing you good thoughts and well wishes. TAKE CARE!
Ride the soon to be Goodreads choice awards victory (building expectation here) to a reunion book tour. "You thought the hardcover was good."
"Life is tough. But so are you." We know you'll come back with something good that will be better because you took care of yourself! Such an important thing =)
I'm so happy that you're taking the time to care for yourself. Please don't rush yourself - we'll be here when you're ready!
The world loves you and loves you for who you are.
Take some time off for yourself before the next project. You deserve it.
Please take care of yourself first and foremost! Just know that your fans will always, ALWAYS, love and support you <3 stay healthy, safe, and happy xx
Thanks for your honesty and know that the people who admire your work will always be here and support your decisions. Don't let people keep you from the laughter and happiness u bring to others. I have struggled with depression most of my life and not admitting it was a problem. Good luck Felicia I wish the best for you !!!
A little self-care goes a long way! Take care Felicia! Your fans will still be here when you're ready :)
Taking some time off is a great idea - it's a sabbatical! In some ways depression goes hand-in-hand with creative activities (at least in my personal experience as a writer, it has). I guess I'm saying you're in good company! :-)
If I was taking a month off, here's what I'd do:
1. play lots of classic games like Monkey Island, Maniac Mansion, etc....
2. hang out with friends
3. read
4. go out for a long walk every day
5. binge watch comedies and sci-fi
6. unplug a bit from the interwebs and the daily news cycle
7. drink some wine
8. that's about it, really!
All the best!
Sorry to hear about your bout of depression, I struggle with it too. It's part of why I found your book so inspirational. Take your time. We all <3 you, Felicia!
Sorry you've been feeling under the weather. Trying to find motivation can be hard sometimes. :/ I hope you find what you're looking for as you do your soul-searching!
It's important to remember that at the end of the day you need to look after yourself. Enjoy your break and have a great end of the year.
Take your time and take care of you. Your health and well being are more important than how quickly you can create and share new content.
We love you Felicia and you're important to us, so we understand. You should definitely take whatever time you need to take care of yourself. You're such a good role model =]
Hang in there, kiddo! Take good care of yourself, and your fans will still be here when you're back! :D
Felicia, your health is so much more important than anything else right now. We love you and respect you and want nothing more than for you to feel better! We can wait, you get better and have a lovely holiday season! AKF
We love you all Felicia, and it's a good thing that you remember to take care of yourself. I hope for new stuff but really, your health is much more important. Take care and hope you'll feel better
Happy to hear you're taking time to care for yourself! I hope it's healing and fills you with creativity.
Just sit back, put your feet up and enjoy the holidays with friends and family. To quote Count Rugen, the Six-Fingered Man, 'Get some rest. If you haven't got your health, then you haven't got anything.'
As someone who also suffers from depression, just take the time you need. We, your fans, will be there when you are ready.
I'm very glad to hear that you're taking into account your own well-being. Self care is really important but mostly ignored. Take your time, your true fans will understand and wait. Much love.
I hope taking care of yourself includes coming back to SF, grabbing Veronica and Bonnie, and joining me for Mai Tais at the Cove.
Take care Felicia, we'll wait for you :0)
P.S. You will totally rock being the Mad, looking forward to MST3k!
Hang in there, take care of yourself. Put the oxygen mask on yourself first before helping other passengers........
If you ever feel bad again, just come back to this page and see what all your followers write! We all love you :)
Admitting to depression and struggling with self care is hard enough for anyone, writing it the masses is an amazing thing for those who share your struggles. I too have had harder times, sometimes in the midst of all the madness of work you have less time to observe your internal world. I hope you take the time and get the help you need to feel better soon.
I like that you can say this and you've chosen to say it. Helps people understand that sometimes it's necessary to take some time just to take care of yourself.
