Tyler good information, thanks

Sheryl Flores I gave up reading the Fates section and moved on to Furies section which like they say is more enjoyable. I think if Furies was the first part, I would have read the whole book.

William Wehrmacher maybe I should just skip to the second half. I can't find anything interesting in the first, thus far.

Lorraine I think the author's overly florid prose in the first half is meant to convey Lotto's personality and grandiosity, but I agree it is overdone. I skimmed the last third of his section and suggest that you don't skip it completely. It does set up the second half of the novel in which you see Mathilda and Lotto in an entirely different and astonishing light.
