Persassyizdabest Wow, I didn't know she said that. That's beautiful! <3 And now I appreciate more that she left it open for us to interpret.

Rochelly God, this is even more amazing than I imagined.

Abby Good Romeo and Juliet weren't even 17 and the world's most known writer wrote about them falling in love with each other. You never know if us teenagers get our endings or beginnings now but we do hope it is our beginning. But for the unlucky ones, it is their end.

Jodell i met my husband at 17.. we married...yes it was a beginning...and I believe that Elanor and Park can have that. Park's parents met early to. So choose to believe "it aint over".

Chanel I thought it was "I love you", it would have been a great ending because she hadn't said it to Park yet.

Tim Regan @Nazbaz, thank you for copying that out, it is really lovely

Holly I'm glad Rowell said it's not an ending, it's a beginning. These characters are so young, and they don't really know each other at all. It's way too soon for them to be thinking marriage, regardless of other people's experiences to the contrary, but it's not too soon for them to reconnect, whether as lovers or as people who care deeply about each other but are moving on in various ways. I identify strongly with the person who resents unfinished endings, because I also have a ridiculously stressful life where I read to escape, but I liked this ending because it didn't sell us a bill of goods in re: marriage (I'm still pissed at J.K. Rowling for making it seem "normal" to marry right after high school) and it didn't end like Romeo & Juliet (thankfully!) but I kind of wanted Eleanor to move back and to live with Park's family while her douche of a stepdad went to prison and her mom got major therapy. But that's a whole different story that has nothing to do with young love unfolding on a school bus to an alt/punk soundtrack for two.
